Emerge Technologies, Inc. provides plastic part manufacturing product development for medical, bio tech, and
other industries. Emerge currently offers custom injection molding, tooling, rapid prototyping (RP), reverse
engineering, and Computer Aided Design (CAD) and engineering (CAE).
Because of the technical sophistication common of clients in its industry, Emerge Technologies pays special
attention to Information Technologies that facilitate production and project coordination. These technologies
make possible the integration between Web site, Extranet, and Intranet.
Emerge Technologies has worked with Saturno Design LLC over the last two years to accomplish the following goals.

plan of action, and develop cost effective solutions over the last two years.

The Problem: Emerge needed to project a desirable company image through graphic design.
The Solution: The Saturno team worked closely with Emerge to identify the current company image, understand the direction
of the company, and establish goals for future development and marketing.

Easily and Cost-Effectively Manage Site Content
The Problem: Emerge Technologies needed to accelerate e-content delivery and eliminate costly, time-intensive Web site
content management.
The Solution: Saturno created a scalable, data-driven Web site and a customized content management application.
By consolidating all Emerge Web site content in a database, the Saturno team centralized management and eliminated
superfluous Web site files. When Web site visitors request information, Emerge-Inc.com pulls files directly from the
database and displays them in the default graphic layout.
The customized content management application, Saturno WebBack, provides an interface whereby employees from
various departments can update Web site content quickly and easily, without specialized knowledge or training.
The Benefits: With the redesigned Web site and customized management application, Emerge Technologies reduces Web site
management costs and rapidly delivers new information.
Low Cost: Emerge Technologies has deployed their custom-designed application to minimize the cost of Web site
management. Any authorized employee can update, add, or delete Web site content at any time, from any location - without
the aid of a Web designer. The Saturno team estimates that the application reduces annual Web management costs by 40
percent.
Rapid Delivery of Information: The e-content management application speeds the delivery of new electronic information:
staff members simply add new data to the Web site by entering it into a database.
Ease of Use: The application's browser-based interface is intuitive and easy to use. It eliminates the traditional
learning curve because employees don't need specialized training in order to use the application.

Enable multi-location project management with clients via online an Work group Extranet
The Problem: Emerge Technologies needed a secure, organized way for its staff to share
information with clients.
The enormous amount of information being exchanged via personal email accounts made data tracking and organization extremely
difficult. This problem was compounded because many of the files being shared were over 5 MB in size, which often exceeded the
limits of what their clients could receive via standard email accounts. Because of large file sizes, many of the client files
were never received or returned to the sender, slowing the process of product development.
Moreover, the process of procuring and delivering documents was time-intensive for both Emerge Technologies employees and
clients. Clients did not have access to information whenever and wherever they needed it.
The Solution: The Saturno team developed a customized version of their extranet
and project management software, Saturno Extranet. Saturno Extranet stores client's documents in a centralized and
secure location. Clients can securely log into the Emerge Extranet at any time to retrieve documents, review
messages, and upload new documents and messages to Emerge employees and managers.
Each file has a traceable history, and multiple versions of a document are archived to preserve the content of older
versions. Using this feature, attorneys and clients can track the evolution of documents, compare versions, and
maintain original information.
Because files are stored in a centralized location, locating documents is a quick and simple process. Advanced
sorting and searching features allow any authorized user to locate and retrieve information in just a few easy steps.
Emerge Technologies now uses their application to:

The Solution: Saturno developed an intranet Web site application for Emerge Technologies. The intranet site
provides employees with company news, training materials and job procedure documents. The intranet database
collects data from automated production machines and creates reports for Emerge managers and clients.
